Below is a list of on-going projects of ReVitalize St. Louis. If you'd like to volunteer to participate in supporting these existing projects or are interested in helping to develop new ones, please email 2009 President Claralyn Bollinger. Big BIG Tour City-Wide Open House & Homebuyers
Expo
Hundreds of properties in every style and price are showcased in neighborhoods across St. Louis City. This free-to-the-public event kicks off Real Estate Season and invites first-time homebuyers, empty-nesters, and anyone else interested in the urban life to take a peek into the city’s unique and distinct neighborhoods. A festive Homebuyers’ Expo at the starting point invites attendees to arrive early and speak with realtors, review mortgage packages, talk to neighborhood organizations and check out other real estate-related services. After attending the Expo, everyone picks up a Guide Book, maps and off they go on their own private urban adventure! For a history of the Tour, info on the Homebuyers Expo and much, much more, please visit the Big BIG Tour website. St. Louis Rehabbers Club
The Rehabber's Club is a collection of folks interested
in rehabbing in St. Louis City. The group first met in late
2000 and launched a Yahoo Groups listserv in early 2001. This very
popular listserv has now grown to over 2,000 and those members post hundreds
of messages each month.
The group also holds monthly meetings, typically held the third Saturday of each month from 9:30-11:30 AM. A different subject is addressed and often, the rehabbers choose to visit a neighborhood and meet with and tour properties being rehabbed there. Ultimately, the group strives to visit all 79 neighborhoods in the city. You can subscribe to this free Yahoo Groups listserv by visiting Yahoo and signing up there or by sending an email. For a history of the group and much more information, visit the Rehabbers Club website. Other Projects
Over the past few years, ReVitalize St. Louis
has continued to develop these additional projects.
— In 2007, the Rehabbers Club organized their first annual Used Book Sale, donating all proceeds to on-going restoration efforts at the Chatillon-DeMenil Mansion. That first year was so successful, RVSTL Board members and Rehabbers Club volunteers again organized a very successful sale in 2008. The sale is presented in May during National Historic Preservation Week and partners with the Cherokee-Lemp Annual History Fair.
— A series of Fall Rehabbers Club Classes, usually 2 hours long and running for eight-consecutive weeks, has been developed and promoted since 2004. Subjects range from Historic Tax Credits and Real Estate Law to Green Rehabbing and Landlording 101.
